Tennis Unveils Schedule for 2017-18 Campaign

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – After doubling the previous year's victory total and tallying five dual-match victories in the 2016-17 campaign, the Bowling Green tennis program will debut the 2017-18 season on Sept. 8 at home. In her second regular season at the helm of the program, Head Coach Stephanie Dalmacio and the Falcons will compete in a schedule consisting of a total of 19 dual matches, four invitationals, and eight Mid-American Conference matches.
2017-18 Tennis Schedule
The Falcons will open the season at home with the annual BGSU Invitational from Sept. 8-9, prior to traveling to Dayton, Ohio for the Wright State Invitational Sept. 29-30. The fall season will continue with the Buffalo Invitational from Oct. 6-8, before Bowling Green rounds out the 2017 campaign at the ITA Regionals on Oct. 12-17.
The 2018 spring season will open with a three-match homestand against Chicago State on Jan. 20, followed by Xavier (Jan. 21) and Youngstown State (Jan. 27). The Falcons will conclude 2017-18 non-conference action at home after a five-match road stint when the host the University of Illinois – Chicago on March 16.
Bowling Green will then embark on Mid-American Conference competition beginning on March 23 when they travel to DeKalb, Ill. to face Northern Illinois. The Falcons will then round out the home slate in a three-match stretch beginning on Sunday, March 25 against Ball State through Senior Day on Sunday, April 1 versus Buffalo.
To conclude the regular season prior to the MAC Championships, the Falcons will hit the road for four matches, ending in Kalamazoo, Mich. at Western Michigan on Sunday, April 22 at 1 p.m. The 2018 MAC Championships will then take place from Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29 in Muncie, Ind.
Last season, the Falcons 5-15 record included a 1-7 mark in conference action, and Bowling Green will return four players from the 2016-17 campaign in addition to adding four newcomers for the upcoming year.
