BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green volleyball program (1-3) opened its competition in the BGSU/Toledo Invitational Friday evening against the University of Notre Dame (5-0), in which the Fighting Irish were able to take the match in a narrow 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-17) final.

Falcon Stat Facts

Junior Madeline Brandewie and sophomore Jessi Holly topped the Falcons offense with six kills each, while sophomore Celena Kanagin and senior Nicole Slimko each tallied five on the night.
While setting for the Falcons, sophomore Isabelle Marciniak notched 27 assists on Bowling Green's 30 kills, in addition to eight digs, one block and one service ace.
At the line, four different Falcons tallied an ace on the Fighting Irish.
Defensively, freshman Katie Kidwell made an impact marking three block assists on the Falcons four of the night. Kanagin was also strong defensively by shutting down two Irish attacks with block assists.
Bowling Green opened with a match-high attack percentage of .133. Individually, Marciniak led the Bowling Green squad by hitting .500 through the three sets of action.

Bowling Green will continue action in the BGSU/Toledo Invitational by hosting Southeastern Louisiana tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. in the Stroh Center. Coach Tomic and the Bowling Green volleyball staff will be hosting a pre-match Chalk Talk for all season ticket holders in the Stroh Center Classroom at 6:15 p.m.
