NORMAL, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program carded team rounds of 306 and 311 to end the day tied for fourth on the team leaderboard with a two-round combined score of 617, +41 at the Redbird Invitational. Both rounds were played at the Weibring Golf Club.

Out of the 12 teams, Bowling Green sits tied for fourth with Illinois State. Bradley is currently in first with a 608 team score, followed by Western Illinois (613) and Northern Illinois (615). BGSU is also ahead of MAC foes Ohio (630) and Ball State (635).

"We played solid today for the year's first rounds," said head coach Stephanie Young. "We are looking forward to tomorrow's challenge."

Bowling Green's 617 team score is tied for 10th best in program history for 36 holes. BGSU was led by Erin Fahey, who cared a 75 in the first round, and followed that up with a career-best 71 in the second round. Fahey's 71 ranks tied for eighth all-time.

* Jessica Madry shot a career-best 74 in the first round, and sat tied for fourth after one round of golf. Madry carded two birdies in the opening round.
* Erin Fahey registered a team-high four birdies in the first round.
* Making their collegiate debuts, freshmen Nicole Cox and Sammi Blackburn each posted two birdies on the back nine of the first round.
* Sarah Kern carded birdies on the eighth and 11th to kick-start her opening round.
* Fahey's 71 in the second round is a career best, and also ranks tied for eighth all-time in school history for a single round.
* Fahey, after carding four birdies in the first round, carded four more in the second round.
* Cox shot a 75 in the second round after a strong first 18 holes.
* Kern and Cox posted two birdies apiece in the second round, while Madry totaled one birdie.

TEAM TIDBITS
* Bowling Green's 617 team score is tied for 10th best in school history for 36 holes.
* All five BGSU players currently sit in the top-50 individually.
* BGSU dominated on Par 3 scoring in the first round, shooting even par on such holes, which was at least five strokes better than the best of the competition.
* Bowling Green led the way with 13 birdies in the first round. One two other scores even had 10 birdies in the first round. BGSU leads the field with 22 birdies after 36 holes.
* All five Falcons totaled at least two birdies in the first round of action.
* Each Falcon registered at least one birdie in round two.
