Holly Leads Falcons Offense Against VCU

RICHMOND, Va. – The Bowling Green volleyball program (3-6) began the VCU Invitational with Saturday evening competition against the home team, but ultimately fell by a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-16) final to the Rams (11-2).

- Sophomore Jessi Holly led the team in kills throughout the match, beginning in the first set with five. The Upper Sandusky, Ohio native doubled her successful attacks to finish with her second match of double-digit kills on the season when she posted 10 against the Rams.
- Defensively, junior libero Kallie Seimet opened the match with seven digs, ultimately tallying 10 over the course of the three sets.
- At the net, junior Isabel Kovacic marked a solo block and block assist, having a hand in each of Bowling Green's 2.0 total blocks. A native of Littleton, Colo., Kovacic hit .500 on the night on her way to also marking two kills.
- Assisting in the Falcons' offense was sophomore setter Isabelle Marciniak, who tallied 17 assists in addition to one dig and one kill through the three sets played. Marciniak now posts a team-leading 341 assists to average 0.74 per set on the season.
- Seimet and Holly teamed up to notch the Falcons two service aces on the night. It is Seimet's fourth of the year, and third on the season for Holly.
- The teams fought through five total tie scores and two lead changes over the course of the match.

- The Bowling Green volleyball program will round out non-conference competition tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 10:30 a.m. against Northwestern. The Falcons will round out the tournament against Seton Hall at 4:30 p.m.
