Sasaki & Radeva Named MAC Doubles Team of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After helping the team kick off the spring season with a 2-0 record, Bowling Green tennis' Ayumi Sasaki and Polina Radeva have been named MAC Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.
Sophomore Sasaki and junior Radeva helped the Falcons to its undefeated start, first in the season opener against Chicago State on Thursday. The duo helped the Falcons sweep doubles competition by leading outright for a 6-2 win. On Sunday afternoon, the pair picked up another victory as they were able to lift Bowling Green to a 4-3 victory over Xavier and award Bowling Green the doubles point in the narrow competition. At the No. 2 doubles spot, Sasaki paired up with Radeva where they led their opponents outright for its eventual 6-2 win over the Musketeers for a perfect 2-0 start paired together in doubles action.
The MAC weekly award is the first for both Sasaki and Radeva's careers.
The Bowling Green tennis program will be back in action this Saturday, Jan. 27 as it hosts Youngstown State at 1 p.m. at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
