Bowling Green Drops Battle Of I-75 Saturday Night

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team fell to 12-9 (3-5 MAC) on Saturday night following a 101-75 loss to the University of Toledo. The game was played at UT's Savage Arena in front of a great environment of 6,812 fans.
The game marks the only scheduled meeting between the two schools. Toledo has had the luxury of hosting the rivalry game three of the last four times when the two schools have only met once across a season.
Toledo shot 67.2 percent (39-of-58) from the field to pull away from the Falcons. UT also went 8-for-17 from downtown (47.1 percent). For the game, Bowling Green shot 42.2 percent (27-of-64). BGSU went 8-for-20 from three-point territory (40.0 percent).
The Rockets were paced by senior guard Tre'Shaun Fletcher, who finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Fletcher went 12-for-15 from the field.
PLAYER NOTES
• Redshirt-freshman guard Justin Turner registered 13 points, four rebounds and six assists. He had just one turnover, and went 1-for-1 from deep.
• Freshman forward Derek Koch scored a conference career high of 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting. He made a career-high two triples on five attempts. He also had four rebounds, one block and one steal.
• Sophomore guard Dylan Frye scored 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting, to go along with three assists, three steals and one rebound.
• Freshman forward Daeqwon Plowden added 11 points, four rebounds and one steal. Plowden went 4-for-7 from the floor, including a 2-for-3 mark from downtown.
• Junior guard Antwon Lillard finished with 11 points on 2-of-4 shooting. Lillard, who went 6-for-8 from the charity stripe, also had one rebound, one assist and one steal.
• Junior forward Demajeo Wiggins chipped in with eight points, one rebound and one steal.
• Sophomore guard Rodrick Caldwell posted three points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
• Senior Matt Fox scored three points, while also contributing with two assists and one rebound.
