- The Bowling Green State University hockey team will take on the Colonials of Robert Morris in a home-and-home series over homecoming weekend.
- The Falcons will play the first game of this series on the road in Colonials Arena in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:00 pm.
- The Falcons will then return to Bowling Green to play Robert Morris in their home opener on Sunday, Oct. 14 for a 5:07 pm puck drop.

- The Falcons and Colonials have met a total of five times with Bowling Green leading the all-time series 2-0-1.
- Their most recent matchup saw the Falcons defeat the Colonials 4-1 on Jan. 4, 2015.
- The two programs have met twice at neutral sight locations. The first being on Dec. 28, 2013 at PPG Paints Arena (then Console Energy Center) in Pittsburgh for the Three Rivers Classic tournament. The second being outdoors at Fifth Third Field for Winterfest in Toledo, Ohio on Jan, 3 2015.

- The Bowling Green State University hockey team opened the 2018-19 season with a dominating 8-2 victory over the Lakers of Mercyhurst on Saturday night (Oct. 6) at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
- Stephen Baylis had a hat trick scoring three times with an assist capping off a four point night for the senior captain.Â
- The Falcons then defeated No. 18 Western Michigan 6-2 on Tuesday night (Oct. 9) at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich..
- The Falcons tallied six goals despite being outshot 36 to 19 on the evening. This thanks in large part to goaltender Ryan Bednard, who had 34 saves.Â
- Tim Theocharidis, Connor Ford, and Casey Linkenheld all extended their score streaks to two games, each of them having one goal a piece.
- Freshman Taylor Schneider scored his first career goal for Bowling Green early in the third period to extend BGSU's lead back to two.
- The Falcons collected their first win against Western Michigan since Jan. 18, 2013, in a 3-2 conference victory in the final season of the CCHA.
- The Falcons also collected their first win in Lawson Ice Arena since Jan, 19 2008.
- Coach Bergeron gets his first win as a head coach at Western Michigan.
>>MAXING OUT THE BOX SCORE
- Senior captain Stephen Baylis earned his first WCHA Award of the season as he was named Forward of the Week on Oct. 8 after a hat trick and an assist against Mercyhurst.
- Tim Theocharidis, Connor Ford, and Casey Linkenheld all enter this series on two game score streaks.
- The Falcons have outscored their first two opponents by a total of 14 to 4.Â

- Bowling Green was voted to finish second overall in the UAHhockey.com WCHA Media preseason poll, and third in the 2018 Mankato Free Press preseason poll.
- Junior Falcon defenseman Alec Rauhauser was voted First Team All-WCHA by both the media and the coaches. Rauhuaser's contributions to the 2017-18 campaign included leading the squad with 39 points by nine goals and a team-leading 30 assists. The 39 points marked the most by a single Falcon since the 2008-09 season.Â
- Three more Falcons were voted Second Team All-WCHA by the media. Sophomore forward Brandon Kruse, senior defenseman Chris Pohlkamp and junior goaltender Ryan Bednard all made the cut.

- For the upcoming season, the Falcons will look to return 12 of 16 forwards, all seven defensemen, and all three goaltenders from the 2017-18 campaign that saw the Falcons claim a Great Lakes Invitational Championship.
- Bowling Green garnered 159 points in the media preseason poll, and 76 points in the coaches'. Â The Falcons also had one vote for the top finish on the year in the media preseason poll.

>>COMING INTO THIS SEASON
- With an overall record of 23-12-6 in 2017-18, it marked the Falcons' fourth consecutive 20+ win season and fifth straight winning season. Bowling Green had records 21-18-2 in the 2016-17 campaign, 22-14-6 in the 2015-16 campaign, and a 23-11-5 record in the 2014-15 season. Last year was the 22nd season that the Falcons have tallied a 20-plus win season.
- By competing in the WCHA Championship at the end of  the 2016-17 season, it marked Bowling Green's first conference championship appearance since 1988.
