Falcon Volleyball To Compete in MAC Tournament As No. 1 Seed

As the No. 1 seed, the Falcons automatically qualify for a semifinals match, but will have to wait out the results of match three to determine who their challenger will be. Match three will be contested by No. 4 Buffalo and the winner of match one (No. 5 Eastern Michigan vs. No. 8 Kent State)

SCOUTING THE BUFFALO BULLS
 • The Buffalo Bulls will enter the MAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed. Buffalo ended the regular season with an overall record of 18-10 overall, and 10-6 in conference.
• Bowling Green and Buffalo split matches this season. Bowling Green defeated the Bulls in New York in three sets, but fell to the to the same team at the Stroh Center.
• Buffalo's Andrea Mitrovic sits at No. 11 in the total points category of the NCAA rankings with 508 points, and no. 16 in total kills with 453. Mitrovic ended with 17 kills in the Bulls' most recent match against Bowling Green.

SCOUTING THE EASTERN MICHIGAN EAGLES
• The Eastern Michigan Eagles will enter the MAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed. Eastern Michigan ended the regular season with a record of 17-13 overall, and 9-7 in the MAC.
• Bowling Green faced Eastern Michigan once in the 2018 season. The Falcons picked up narrow victories in four sets versus the Eagles. The Falcons won the first, third, and fourth set by no more than three points, but fell to the Eagles by five points in the second set.
• The Eagles rank in the top 15 in several categories of the NCAA rankings. Eastern Michigan ranks No. 11 in digs per set with an average of 18.06, No. 12 in team assists with 1,445, and No. 17 in kills with 1,529.

SCOUTING THE KENT STATE GOLDEN FLAHSES
• The Kent State Golden Flashes will enter the MAC Tournament as the No. 8 seed. Kent State ended the 2018 regular season with a record of 13-17 overall, and 6-10 in the MAC.
• Bowling Green has defeated Kent State in its past seven meetings.
STATISTICAL LEADERS FOR THE FALCONS
• Kallie Seimet continues to lead the NCAA in digs per set with an updated average of 6.69. The libero from Oregon, Ohio is currently at 700 digs this season, making her first in the NCAA total digs category, and the new all-time digs leader in BGSU history.
• Kallie Seimet was named MAC Volleyball Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and featured on the All-MAC First Team. Seimet is the first player in conference history to win both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in successive seasons.
• The Falcons rank second in the NCAA in digs per set and seventh in team digs. The Orange and Brown are averaging 19.38 digs per set, and have registered 2,035 digs in the 2018-19 season. On the offensive end, the Falcons are fourth in team attacks per set, averaging 40.11. Â
• Isabelle Marciniak has put up 843 assists for her teammates this season. After playing in 96 sets this season, the setter is averaging 8.78 assists per set.
• Katelyn Meyer leads the Falcons in kills with 250. Madeline Brandewie (192), Katie Kidwell (189), and Isabel Kovacic (189) all trail closely behind.
• Katelyn Meyer and Katie Kidwell were both selected to feature on the  2018 MAC Volleyball All-MAC First Team, Meyer is Bowling Green's lone freshman featured on the All-Freshman Team
• Katie Kidwell has been involved in 117 blocks. Kidwell is up to 21 solo blocks and 96 block assists this season.

UP NEXT
If the Falcons defeat their challenger in the MAC Tournament semifinals, they will advance to the final match, in which the Orange and Brown can challenge for another title, and qualify for the 2018 NCAA Volleyball Championship.
