DETROIT, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team wrapped up the 2018 Legends Classic with an 82-67 loss at the hands of the Detroit Mercy Titans. The contest was played at Calihan Hall in Detroit, Michigan. BGSU is now 3-3 in 2018-19 following the loss.
The Titans shot 55.6 percent from downtown, sinking an impressive 15 triples on 27 attempts. Detroit Mercy was led by freshman guard Antoine Davis, who made 8-of-12 triples and finished the ballgame with a game-high 32 points.
Daeqwon Plowden recorded the first double-double of his career for the Orange and Brown, as the sophomore forward had 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Senior forward Demajeo Wiggins and junior guard Dylan Frye each scored 13 points, while redshirt-sophomore guard Justin Turner, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, added 11 points.
In the first significant run of his career, redshirt-freshman forward Matiss Kulackovskis set career highs in points (9), rebounds (4), made field goals (4), three-pointers (1), and minutes played (13). Also scoring for Bowling Green was freshman guard Caleb Fields (5), junior guard Michael Laster (4), and redshirt-senior forward Jeffrey Uju (2).
