Columbus, Ohio – The BGSU Men's Golf team will compete in the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate held in Columbus, Ohio Saturday and Sunday. Competitors from the Mid-American Conference include Ball State, Kent State, Northern Illinois and Miami. Other teams sharing the field with the Falcons are Colgate, Francis Marion and Xavier. LIVE STATS
The invitational will include three rounds at par 71 with a total of 7,455 yards with two rounds on Saturday and concluding on Sunday. The teams will tee off Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
The Falcons will take their first strokes in competition since the Border Olympics in early March after being rained out of the Greenbrier earlier in April. The Falcon lineup for the weekend includes Rodrigue Vie, Trey Walker, Pablo Heredia Iglesias, Mitchell Kontak and Nick Hofland.
Leading the field for the Falcons is freshman Vie who totaled 210, -6 through three rounds at the Border Olympics finishing tied for seventh along with Kontak, another top scorer for the Falcons.
"This is a great test to finish our preparations for the MAC Championship" says coach Powers. "Ohio State has a tough golf course which requires a lot of patience and discipline with our approach shots. This field is one of the best we play all season and I am looking forward to seeing how we stack up."
The Falcons' 2018 season will conclude with MAC Championships (Apr. 27-29) taking place in Fort Wayne, Ind.
