BGSU To Hold White Out Against Maryland

Bowling Green, Ohio - BGSU Football will play host to the Maryland Terrapins, of the Big Ten Conference, in the Home Opener Sept. 8, and will do so in special fashion. The team will be wearing all white, and fans are encouraged to join in the "White Out."

The game against Maryland will also serve as Heroes Day. Active and retired members of the military receive a free ticket, while friends and family of the military, EMS, and fire and police workers and their friends and family will receive discounted tickets.

To show support, all fans are urged to wear white and participate. The game at Doyt L. Perry Stadium is set to kick at 6 pm and will serve as Bowling Green's second game of the season. The Falcons open the season at Oregon.

BGSU has played Maryland just one other time, scoring 42 second-half points to break open a close contest in a 48-27 road win in 2015. Matt Johnson led the way for BGSU, passing for 491 yards and six touchdowns. The offense gained a total of 692 yards, which was 14 yards shy of the school record.

The Falcons last hosted a Big Ten school in 2014 when Roger Lewis, now with the New York Giants, reeled in a touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining to give the Falcons a stunning 45-42 win over Indiana.
