OXFORD, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team was defeated by Miami University on Saturday (Jan. 26) by a score of 67-53. The game was played at MU's Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio. With the loss, Bowling Green saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end.
The Falcons still sit in first place in the Mid-American Conference, along with No. 14 Buffalo. Bowling Green drops to 14-6 on the season with the loss, while Miami moves to 11-9 (3-4 MAC). Miami controlled the game from the tip, as BGSU's only lead on the afternoon came on the first made field goal of the contest.
After trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, the Falcons climbed within five points at 24-19 at the break. Bowling Green had the lead down to a single point at 30-29 with 14:29 to go in the contest, but Miami followed with a 9-0 run and did not look back.
Redshirt-sophomore guard Justin Turner led the Falcons with 12 points and six rebounds, while senior guard Antwon Lillard, who had 10 points, was the only other Falcon to finish in double figures scoring. Senior forward Demajeo Wiggins added four points and 10 rebounds.
