Bowling Green Defeats Findlay In Exhibition Wednesday Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team defeated the University of Findlay, 88-80, on Wednesday (Oct. 30) night at the Stroh Center. The exhibition was decided in overtime, as the Falcons went on a 12-4 run in the extra session to earn the win.
Redshirt-junior guard Justin Turner led the Falcons with 24 points. Turner also five rebounds and a team-high five assists. Junior forwards Daeqwon Plowden (13) and Trey Diggs (13), along with senior guard Dyaln Frye (12), scored in double figures for the Orange and Brown. Plowden and sophomore center Tayler Mattos led BGSU in rebounding with nine apiece.
Findlay, ranked No. 17 in Division II, drilled 11 three-pointers on 36 percent shooting from deep. Three Oilers scored in double-digit points, led by Joey Edmonds' 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three-point territory.
Trailing by three points with under a minute to play in regulation, Turner found Diggs for a game-tying triple with 56 seconds left. The pair of squads proceeded to trade layups, prior to Bowling Green closing out the game in overtime. In OT, the Falcons scored the Oilers into four turnovers, while UF had just one assist on two made field goals.
