CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team picked up a 75-59 victory over Jacksonville University on Monday (Nov. 11) evening. The non-conference contest was played at the University of Miami's Watsco Center.
The Falcons scheduled the game in order for their Florida-based players to get a game close to home. Dylan Frye, Marlon Sierra and Joniya Gadson are Miami natives, while Trey Diggs is from Niceville, Florida.
Jacksonville drilled a triple on its first possession, but after Frye drilled a three-pointer with 17:18 remaining in the first half, the Falcons would go on to lead for the duration of game. In total, Bowling Green played with the lead for 37:18 of the game's 40 minutes. In fact, BGSU held a double-digit lead since the 9:02 mark of the second half.
Redshirt-junior guard Justin Turner fell two assists shy of recording Bowling Green's first triple-double since 2007. The native of Detroit finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

• Junior forward Marlon Sierra scored in double figures for the first time in his career. Sierra had a career-high 11 points. He matched his career high with four made field goals, as he went 4-for-6 from the field. Sierra also made four field goals in a road win at Eastern Michigan on Eastern Michigan on Jan. 22, 2019.
• Junior forward Daeqwon Plowden scored in double figures for the 17th time in his Falcon career. Plowden finished with 11 points, three rebounds, one steal and a season-high three blocks.
• Senior guard Dylan Frye had a well-rounded night, as he posted eight points, four rebounds and four assists. On the evening, Frye moved into 37th place on BGSU's all-time scoring list. Frye moved past Kevin Netter (2000-04 | 1,114). Frye has now scored 1,121 points in his career as a Falcon.
• Senior guard Michael Laster posted six points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Redshirt-freshman center Dylan Swingle also scored six points (3-of-4 FG). The three field goals were the first made field goals of Swingle's collegiate career.
• Sophomores Tayler Mattos and Matiss Kulackovskis each added two points. Kulackovskis scored on a contested dunk along the baseline. Mattos notched two rebounds, as well.
