ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Behind a career night from senior guard Dylan Frye, the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team picked up a 91-84 overtime victory over the University of Cincinnati on Sunday (Nov. 24) night on the island of St. Thomas.
BGSU overcame a 10-point deficit with just 3:11 left in regulation. Trey Diggs' three-pointer with 28 seconds to go tied the game at 72-72. The Falcons held on to force overtime, and then won the five-minute overtime session by a 19-12 margin.
Bowling Green advances to the Paradise Jam Championship Game on Monday (Nov. 25) night at 8 p.m. EST. The Falcons will play the University of Nevada in the title game. Bowling Green moves to 5-1 on the season with the win. Cincinnati, ranked No. 31 on Kenpom.com heading into the night, drops to 3-2 with the loss. UC's other loss came at Ohio State.
Frye tied his career high with 28 points. The senior also recorded a career-high nine rebounds to go along with a season-high six assists.

STRATEGIC FOULING AIDS FALCON COMEBACK
• With the Falcons down, 68-62, with 1:53 to play, the Falcons started fouling UC point guard Chris McNeal.
• The Falcons fouled him four times, and McNeal went 3-for-8 from the stripe. Over those eight free throw attempts, the Falcons gained four points to cut the UC lead down to two with under 40 seconds to play.
• With Bowling Green down by two points with 38 seconds to go, the Falcons fouled Tre Scott. Scott split at the line, setting up Diggs' tying triple at the top of the arc with 22 seconds remaining.
• Both teams failed to get a shot off on their final possessions, but BGSU out-scored the Bearcats by seven in the extra session.

• Senior guard Dylan Frye had a career night for the Falcons. He tied his career high with 28 points. His other 28-point effort came in a win at Norfolk State on Dec. 2, 2017.
• Furthermore, Frye had a career-high nine rebounds and a season-high six assists. Prior to the game, Frye's rebounding career high was seven. He has pulled down exactly seven rebounds in three games.
• With his 28 points, Frye moved up four spots on BGSU's all-time scoring list. Frye now ranks 30th all-time. Frye surpassed Martin Samarco (2005-07 | 1,151), Spencer Parker (2012-16 | 1,160), Rich Walker (1968-71 | 1,167), and Joe Moore (1987-91 | 1,168). Frye has scored 1,178 points in 103 career games.
• By drilling three triples, Frye surpassed Falcon legend Jay Larranaga (1993-97 | 195) for third all-time on BGSU's career three-point field goals list. Frye has made 197 treys, and needs just 32 more three-pointers to break the Bowling Green career record. He sits behind Keith McLeod (1998-2002 | 199) and John Reimold (2002-05 | 228).
• Junior forward Trey Diggs scored in double figures for the fourth time in his Falcon career. Diggs went 3-of-6 from the floor, including a 2-for-5 mark from downtown. Diggs went 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.
• Redshirt-junior guard Justin Turner and sophomore guard Caleb Fields each scored 10 points. Turner had three assist, while Fields had three rebounds. Fields scored in double figures for the seventh time in his career. Turner finished with 10-plus points for the 64th time as a Falcon.
• Senior forward Marlon Sierra scored five points for the second time in as many games. The native of Miami also had three rebounds.
• Sophomore center Tayler Mattos, in 14 minutes, went 3-for-5 from the floor for six points. Mattos added five rebounds, as well.
• Senior guard Michael Laster scored two points, and led the Falcons with a career-high 10 rebounds. All 10 of Laster's rebounds came on the defensive end. The senior had four assists and two steals, as well.
• Redshirt-freshman center Dylan Swingle finished the contest with two points and one rebound. Swingle's lone bucket – a jump hook – gave the Falcons a 78-76 lead with 3:11 remaining in overtime.
• Freshman guard Davin Zeigler played a key defensive role down the stretch, and also registered a career-high three rebounds.
