First place BGSU will host Toledo on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 6:00 pm in the annual Battle of I-75 game. The first-place Falcons will be celebrating the last BGSU men's basketball team to win a MAC regular season title, the 2008-09 squad.
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, in front of a record-breaking and standing-room only crowd of 5,000 fans, beat the 18th-ranked University at Buffalo Bulls by a score of 92-88 on Friday (Feb. 1) night. The game was played in front of a nationally televised audience on CBS Sports Network.
Bowling Green takes over sole possession of first place in the Mid-American Conference with the victory. The Falcons are 15-6 overall and 7-1 in league play. Buffalo drops to 19-3 (7-2 MAC) with the loss. Bowling Green is 7-1 in MAC play for the first time since 1961-62.
The win marks BGSU's first over an Associated Press Top 25 team since an 89-83 triumph over Kent State at Anderson Arena on March 1, 2008. The victory is the program's highest-ranked win since upsetting No. 5 Michigan State, 98-85, on Dec. 1, 1990.
The 5,000 capacity crowd shattered the record for a men's basketball game at the Stroh Center, surpassing the 4,421 fans that witnessed a BGSU win over Toledo in 2012. The crowd was the largest of any type to witness a Bowling Green State University athletic event at the Stroh Center.

• BGSU improves to 11-0 inside the Stroh Center in 2018-19. Bowling Green is winning its home games by an average of 18.9 points, outscoring opponents by an average score of 84.1 to 65.2. Opponents are shooting 38.4 percent from the floor at Stroh Center this season, while Bowling Green is shooting 47.2 percent.
• With the win, Bowling Green has defeated all 11 MAC schools under head coach Michael Huger. Huger is now 60-59 at Bowling Green.
• Bowling Green snapped Buffalo's nine-game winning streak over the Falcons. The win was BG's first over Buffalo since a 74-68 win on Feb. 2, 2014. The all-time series between the two institutions is now tied at 19-19.
• Bowling Green shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59) from the floor, marking the seventh time this season that the Falcons have shot at least 50.0 percent from the floor. BG has shot over 50.0 percent in three MAC games in 2018-19. Last season, the Falcons shot at least 50.0 percent from the field just four times all year.
• The Falcons went 8-for-19 (42.1 percent) from downtown. Over the last 12 games, Bowling Green is shooting 42.8 percent (114-of-266) from three-point range. BGSU has shot at least 40.0 percent from deep in 10 of those 11 ballgames.
• Bowling Green's 53 points in the second half marked the team's highest-scoring half this season.
• For the seventh time this season, and third time over the last four games, BGSU committed less than 10 turnovers. The Falcons committed just nine turnovers on the night.
• Bowling Green scored 27 points off 18 Buffalo turnovers.
• Bowling Green attempted a season-high 36 free throws. The Falcons' 24 free throw makes is the program's second-best mark in 2018-19. BG hit 29 free throws in a win over Ball State on Jan. 15.
PLAYER NOTES
• Junior guard Dylan Frye scored a season-high 25 points, marking the second time this season and ninth time in his career that he's scored 20-plus points. Frye went 10-for-16 from the floor. His 10 field goal makes set a career high.
• Frye has made multiple three-pointers in 43 career games. Frye went 3-for-7 from downtown, bumping his career three-point make total up to 150. He also added two assists, two steals and one rebound in the contest.
• Redshirt-sophomore guard Justin Turner, who scored 16 points in the first half, finished with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Turner has now scored 20-plus points a conference-leading 12 times in 2018-19. Turner also posted four rebounds.
• Senior forward Demajeo Wiggins registered his 13th double-double of the campaign, as he ended the ballgame with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Wiggins went 11-for-16 from the charity stripe.
• Junior guard Michael Laster scored all nine of his points in the second half. Laster went 3-for-5 from the floor, and a perfect 3-for-3 at the foul line.
• Senior guard Antwon Lillard posted seven points, two steals, one assist and one rebound. Lillard sits just 71 points shy of 1,000 for his career.
• Sophomore forward Daeqwon Plowden and junior forward Marlon Sierra each contributed with four points and three assists. Freshman guard Caleb Fields also had four points.

• The Falcons head to Kalamazoo for a 7 p.m. showdown against Western Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Bowling Green defeated WMU, 79-48, on Jan. 19 inside the Stroh Center.
• BGSU is then set to return home to conclude the week. Bowling Green and Toledo will play in the Battle of I-75 at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.
