BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program lost to the No. 10 ranked (Division II) Indianapolis Greyhounds on Saturday (Feb. 23) by a score of 5-2. The loss moves the Falcons record to 5-5 on the season with one more match left before conference play begins. As for the Greyhounds, they improve to 6-0 thus far. Paula Comella and Marharita-Sophia Tavpash both moved up on the all-time doubles list after coming away with the Falcons lone win in doubles play against the No. 4 ranked (Division II) doubles duo of Alexeeva and Novikova.

Statistical Standouts

Comella and Tavpash were able to defeat Indianapolis' Alexeeva and Novikova in doubles by a score of 6-4. The Indy duo is currently ranked No. 4 in Division II Doubles by ITA.
With the win in doubles, Comella and Tavpash both move up on the all-time doubles wins list. Comella advances to sole possession of No. 12 all-time with 72 doubles wins, while Tavpash moves to 28th with 52.
In No. 3 singles, Radeva came back from a 5-4 deficit in the first to take the extended set. The set win would propel her to capture one of the Falcons' two points.

Up Next
The Falcons will conclude the non-conference portion of their schedule on Friday, March 8 at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. BGSU will be facing Dayton, who currently hold a 1-5 record on the season, including an 0-4 record on the road. The Flyers lone win came against Saint Francis (Pa.) by a score of 5-2. Bowling Green last met Dayton during the 2016-17 season in Dayton with the match ending 4-3 in favor of BGSU.
