BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program came up short against Michigan State falling 4-0 in a match that was called early. The loss pushes the Falcons' record to 3-3 on the season, including a 1-1 record for the weekend with one match remaining.

Statistical Standouts

The loss in doubles for Paula Comella and Marharita-Sophia Tavpash ends a streak of three consecutive wins in doubles play.
With the match ending early, the Falcons were unable to close out a few leads late in the third set. Tavpash was leading in the final set. In addition, Marta Bettinelli had tied up her third set when the match was called.

"We competed head-to-head against MSU today and were close to getting a few courts before the match was called. We've come long ways getting through mental hurdles and will continue to improve with each match."

Up Next
Bowling Green will continue their full slate this weekend tomorrow, Feb. 10 when they return home to face Cleveland State with a schedule 1 p.m. first serve. The Vikings will enter the match with a 1-0 record after sweeping St. Bonaventure, 7-0 in Cleveland. The Falcons and Vikings met earlier this year at the Viking Invitational with Bowling Green winning five of the six singles matches and all three doubles matches.
