Collecting Brooms
With two wins early in the season, the Falcons are showing strength in their victories. In both wins, Bowling Green has come away with sweeps, the first against Bellarmine University and the second against Indiana Tech. In the most recent sweep, coming against Indiana Tech at home, BGSU never lost a set and allowed the Warriors to capture four points within a set once. In the win, Bowling Green earned five shutout sets as well as five sets where they only allowed one point.
Looking at Saint Louis
The Billikens will enter Friday's competition with a 2-3 record on the season, however, they are on a hot streak. After starting slow with three consecutive losses, Saint Louis gained traction, capturing their last two matches against Southeast Missouri State and the University of Illinois-Springfield. Although, the Billikens have yet to win on the road, maintaining an 0-2 record away from Saint Louis.
Scouting the Spartans
Michigan State has had an up-and-down season thus far, sitting at 3-3 on the season. After starting the season with a loss to Washington State, the Spartans answered by sweeping the University of Montana. They also swept VCU and came away with a win against Xavier, but fell to Princeton and Michigan. Their lone home match resulted in a 5-2 win over Xavier.
Studying Cleveland State
The Vikings have had just one match this season, playing St. Bonaventure on Jan. 27, sweeping the Bonnies 7-0. With that match being in Cleveland, Cleveland State has yet to play a road match this season. The Vikings and Falcons previously met in October at the Viking Invitational, where Bowling Green won five of the six singles matches all three doubles matches.
