BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program began the conference portion off their schedule on Friday, March 22, losing to Buffalo by a score of 6-1. The loss puts the Falcons young MAC record at 0-1, while moving their season standing to 7-7. BGSU was led by senior Paula Comella in singles play, who notched another win for the season. Comella, along with junior Marharita-Sophia Tavpash, won in their doubles match as well.

Statistical Standouts

With a win in No. 1 doubles, Comella and Tavpash both continue to move up the all-time doubles wins list. Now with 75 wins, Comella now holds sole possession of No. 6 all-time. As for Tavpash, she now has 55 doubles wins, giving her sole possession of No. 25 all-time.
Comella also moved up the list in combined wins, tallying two on the day. With at 144 combined wins, Comella has sole possession of No. 9 all-time.

Up Next
The Falcons will continue MAC play on Sunday, March 24 when they travel to Akron to face the Zips. UA began conference play on Friday (March 22) as well, topping Miami by a score of 4-3 to start their MAC record at 1-0. Last season, the Zips finished with a 3-5 record within the MAC with one of those losses coming against the Falcons, 6-1. Overall, Akron has a 16-3 record.
