July 11, 2019 | Football, Falcon Club
Port Clinton, Ohio – The 11th annual Gridiron Classic Golf & Dinner is slated to tee off on Monday afternoon, July 15 in Port Clinton, Ohio. Hosted at Catawba Island Club, the event is the largest annual fundraiser event for BGSU Football.

Highlighting Monday's dinner will be an appearance by Lloyd Carr, the College Football Hall of Fame Head Coach of the Michigan Wolverines from 1995-2007. Carr's teams won five Big Ten titles and the 1997 national championship after beating Washington State in the Rose Bowl.
Carr's history with new BGSU Head Coach Scot Loeffler dates back to Loeffler's playing days at quarterback for Michigan from 1993-96. Loeffler arrived during Gary Moeller's regime and was there for Carr's arrival in 1995. Loeffler served as a graduate assistant for the Wolverines from 1996-99, working with future NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Brian Griese. After two seasons at Central Michigan, Loeffler came back to Michigan as Carr's quarterbacks coach in 2002 and stayed through Carr's final season in 2007.
"We are honored to have Coach Carr join us for this signature event for BGSU Football," Dan Meyer, Associate Athletics Director for Development, said. "There may be no better way to introduce Coach Loeffler to our supporters than through the eyes of Coach Carr. It promises to be an enlightening and entertaining evening."
Event emcee Jerry Anderson will conclude the event with a brief auction of items, including:
