2019-20 BGSU Women's Golf Schedule
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team and head coach Stephanie Young have announced the program's 2019-20 schedule. The Falcons are set to compete in five events in both the fall and spring, highlighted by the Mid-American Conference Championships and 10th-annual Dolores Black Falcon Invitational in April.
"We are excited to announce the 2019-20 Women's Golf schedule and begin competing soon," said Coach Young. "You will find a mix of familiar and new events on the list, but all will challenge us and allow the team to experience some fantastic golf courses. Thank you to all the tournament hosts for affording our program the opportunity to improve each week."
Bowling Green will begin the 2019-20 season in familiar fashion, heading to the Redbird Invitational (Sept. 8-9) and Cardinal Classic (Sept. 16-17) to begin the fall. Last season, BGSU finished in fifth place at both events. The Falcons will then head to the Bearkat Invitational (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1) in Magnolia, Texas for the second-straight season.
The Mid-American Fall Preview (Oct. 7-8) is back on the schedule for the Falcons. The event will be held at Silver Lake Country Club in Akron, Ohio, which will be the exact venue for the MAC Championships in late April. BGSU's fall season will conclude with a trip to Fort Wayne to compete in the Mastodon Fall Invitational over Oct. 14-15.
Bowling Green will look to defend its title at the Women's Mid-American Match Play Challenge (Feb. 3-4) to open the spring. Last season, the Falcons defeated Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Florida Gulf Coast to capture the championship. This year's event will yet again be staged in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
Prior to an important month of April, the Falcons will take part in the Rio Verde Invitational (Feb. 21-23) in Arizona and the Spring Break Shootout (March 16-17) in Florida.
The Dolores Black Falcon Invitational will take place at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green across April 4-5. At last year's tournament, the Falcons moved up multiple spots on the final day to finish in third place. The three-round MAC Championships will be hosted by the University of Akron over April 24-26.
