August 16, 2019 | Softball
The one-day camp is set for Sept. 2 at Meserve Field
Bowling Green State University softball coach Sarah Willis will offer a Labor Day Camp on Monday, Sept. 2, at Meserve Field. Players ages 12 through 18Â can hone their softball skills in this one-day camp on the BGSU campus.
The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Labor Day, and is broken up into several sessions. Session I will cover defensive positional work, including pitching and catching. Defensive positions will receive individualized attention and will work on essential fundamentals to enhance skill and maximize performance.
Session II will focus on offensive approach and hitting fundamentals. Campers will perform drills, learn hitting techniques, and develop hitting strategies.
Session III will provide campers the opportunity to apply the offensive and defensive concepts that were learned in Session I and II. A simulated game Â
Â
In the event of inclement weather, the camp will be held indoors at Perry Field House. Tennis shoes or turf shoes are required for the use of the indoor facility.
Campers will be responsible for bringing their own equipment (gloves, bats, helmets, batting gloves, cleats, and tennis shoes). All pitchers will be required to provide their own catcher separate from the catchers participating in the camp. In the event of inclement weather, the camp will be held indoors at Perry Field House. Tennis shoes or turf shoes are required for the use of the indoor facility.
