• The all-time series between the Falcons and Rockets is tied at 40-40-4. In his debut game in the series, current second-year head coach Scot Loeffler engineered a 20-7 victory over Toledo at Doyt Perry Stadium last October (Oct. 12, 2019).
• Bowling Green will be opening a season against Toledo for the first time since 1919. The 1919 game was the first game in the history of the BGSU program. The Rockets won the contest, 6-0, on Oct. 3, 1919 in Bowling Green.
• The contest is the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams. Bowling Green last faced Toledo in a league opener in 2012. The Falcons lost a two-score game on the road that day prior to winning their next five MAC games.
