What We Don't Know
- We do not know how long capacity restrictions will be in place. Currently for outdoor events capacity is 1,500. For indoor events, capacity is 300, which was set forth by the Governor's Office of Ohio and is in line with MAC policy. As a result, there will be no public attendance at BGSU sporting events. Capacity for those events will accommodate families of student-athletes.
We are offering four options for our season ticket holders as a result of limited capacity for the 2020-2021 Athletic Seasons.
Option 1: Credit your 2020-21 season ticket and parking payments to the 2021-22 season.
- Season ticket holders/purchasers may request their 2020 season ticket and parking payments be applied to the 2021-2022 season.
Option 2: Donate your 2020-21 season ticket and parking payments to support BGSU's student-athletes. Your payment will go to the Falcon Club Athletic Scholarship and Success Fund.
- Provide your payments to the Falcon Club Athletic Scholarship and Success Fund to support BGSU Student Athletes.
Option 3: Credit your 2020-21 season ticket and parking payments to a flex plan for the 2021-22 athletics year.
- A flex plan allows fans to attend any number of events during the 2021-22
Option 4: Request a refund for your 2020-21 season ticket and parking payments.
Other Information Known At This Time
- During the live Zoom Webinar in late August with Bob Moosbrugger and members of his executive team, and BGSU Chief Health Officer, Ben Batey, answered five common questions.
- What is currently being done to help protect the health and welfare of BGSU student-athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic? Our student-athletes complete health assessments that are shared with Sports Medicine staff on a daily basis. All have completed baseline testing for COVID-19 as a condition of their participation, and surveillance testing will be conducted in collaboration with local health authorities and Wood County Hospital. Student-athletes wear department-issued face coverings during training and within our athletic facilities, and all federal, state, and university guidelines are strictly adhered to. Additional resources have been made available to support student-athlete and staff mental health concerns as we continue to work through the continued challenges of COVID-19.
- Will spectators be allowed when sports resume? We do not know how long capacity restrictions will be in place.
- What if I renew my season tickets and the season does not take place on time? If postponement of winter sports takes place, season ticket holders are able to credit their balance forward to next year to lock in the same pricing, donate their payments to the Falcon Club, credit payments to a flex plan, or be issued a refund. We are committed to working with you to find a solution that best fits your needs should additional interruptions take place.
- How will digital ticketing be of benefit to fans? Over the course of the past few years, BGSU Athletics has developed the use of digital ticketing. This will allow for a contactless experience for our fans which will help limit your exposure to others. Digital ticketing allows fans to buy, transfer, exchange, and sell tickets all from their computer or mobile device! Digital ticketing has also allowed us to maintain the lowest prices in the market and pass along as much value as possible to our customers. Safety and value are the two greatest impacts of digital ticketing for our customers.
- How can I be a part of the solution and help BGSU at this time? Mask up! Be sure to wear a mask, avoid crowds, and do anything possible to stop the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, you can help support student-athletes by giving to the Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund. click here.
- We are working alongside University, local, state, and national experts in order to establish the safest procedures to have fans in Doyt Perry Stadium and the Stroh Center for the 2021 Spring Football and Volleyball seasons, as well as the Slater Family Ice Arena and Stroh Center for 2020 Hockey, Men's and Women's Basketball seasons. This is to ensure that everyone is protected. Once those guidelines are in place we will communicate them to our fans as soon as possible.
- We do not anticipate having the ability to sell tickets to away games due to limited capacities at all MAC venues. Fans interested in attending games at other stadiums will either need to purchase tickets directly through the home team's ticket office or through the secondary market.
- The Big Ten's decision to move to conference-only football games means that we unfortunately will not play Ohio State or Illinois on the road this season in football.
- If Doyt Perry Stadium, Stroh Center and/or Slater Family Ice Arena capacity is reduced due to physical distancing requirements, for our fans' health and safety, seating assignments are subject to change. It is our intention to keep season ticket holders in their same seating area (Stadium Club, Suite, Ice Box, Anderson Club, Premium Chairback, Premium Bench, Chairback Reserved, Bench Reserved, General Admission).
Frequently Asked Questions
Where will I be able to watch the games?
Fans are able to hockey games on FloSports TV through a monthly subscription. Football and basketball events will vary game to game on what platform they may be available on. Please check the schedule page for more information on where one can view the event.
What options are available in regards to my season ticket purchase?
In the event that the capacity for the 2021 football season is altered, the assurance policy outlined earlier will become active. This policy includes changing your ticket purchase to a donation, crediting your account towards other football tickets, or requesting a refund for your ticket purchase.
How will you determine who gets seats, if only limited people can come?
Season Ticket Holders will have priority and specific seats will be determined by our Season Ticket Holder Point System, click here. Our goal will be to accommodate as many people as possible within the health and safety guidelines outlined by local, state and federal health and government officials. Currently there have been no final decisions made affecting the seating map for a reduced capacity scenario, and we will be in communication with our fans as those decisions are made. Please login to your My Falcons Account to view your priority point total, or contact the BGSU Ticket Office via e-mail at tickets@bgsu.edu or by phone at 419-372-0000
How many people will be allowed to attend each home game this year?
We do not know how long capacity restrictions will be in place.
How will parking be handled?
We will provide an update on parking availability along with any ticket on-sale information. As of now, we are planning to have all parking passes used as mobile passes with your device. By moving to a mobile and print at home format for parking passes, Falcon fans will no longer have to pay cash only the day of the event, but will be able to purchase in advance, and gain access to the lot quicker as a result of less transactions on game day. In addition, fans will be able to transfer single and season parking passes to friends and family instead of trying to transfer a physical parking pass.
Will I be able to tailgate before the game?
At this time, there will be NO tailgating allowed before games. As more information is released by state and local guidelines, it will be updated here.
Will I have to wear a mask to attend games?
Masks are currently required in all facilities and we anticipate that practice remaining for all of our home events. Any updates or adjustments to our plan would be communicated out and shared on this site as we move forward.
Will students be able to attend?
BGSU Athletics anticipates a limited number of available student tickets, broken down by class and distributed based on prior attendance at athletic events.
