Each week, the BGSU Strategic Communications Department breaks down the week ahead in athletics and recaps the week gone by. Listed below are all games over the course of the next seven days with links and information for fans. Following that info are recaps, scores and links from games over the past week.
THE WEEK AHEAD
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (11-3, 7-2 MAC)

The women's basketball Falcons are home for a pair of contests this week. BGSU, riding a three-game winning streak, will meet Western Michigan on Wednesday night, in a 6:00 p.m. start at the Stroh Center. Then, the Orange and Brown will face Toledo for the second "Battle of I-75" matchup in a two-week span. Saturday's BGSU-UT tilt will begin at 12:00 p.m. The Falcons downed Akron by nine points last Wednesday, then dismantled Miami, 87-52, on Saturday in Oxford. In the latter game, BGSU hit three-point field goals on each of the first three possessions of the game, and the Falcons led by scores of 22-4 after one quarter and 46-14 at the half. The win was BGSU's 11th of the season, topping the total for all of last year. And, the Falcons have more than doubled last year's MAC victory total. Each of this week's games are slated to be streamed via ESPN3 or ESPN+, with BGRSOÂ on the call for both games as well.

The BGSUÂ volleyball team will make their first road trip of the season, heading to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face Western Michigan for two MAC matches. The Falcons are coming off a weekend sweep against Northern Illinois that began their season. Bowling Green captured a 3-2 victory in five sets to begin the season before snagging a 3-0 match sweep to conclude the weekend slate. In those two matches, Katelyn Meyer led the way for Bowling Green with 20 kills on Friday (Jan. 22) followed by 19 on Saturday (Jan. 23). As for Western Michigan, they will also enter with a 2-0 standing both overall and in the conference after defeating Toledo twice this past weekend.Â
SWIMMING & DIVING (0-1, 0-1 MAC)

The BGSU swimming and diving team kicks off the spring portion of the season Friday at 5:00 p.m. in Bowling Green against Eastern Michigan. It will be Senior Day and the Falcons will honor five seniors; Lauren Sullivan, Maddy Andrews, Noelle Lavigne, Kasie Perretta, and Shaunna Jones. BG will be looking for redemption after losing to Eastern Michigan 206.5-93.5 a year ago.

Bowling Green will host a meet for the third consecutive week to open the season as the Falcons welcome Ball State, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan to Perry Field House Friday. The Falcons are coming off of a dominant 82-41 win over Toledo in which the team won 10 of the 12 events in the meet. The Falcons are ranked among the top three in the MAC in an event nine times, with Ryen Draper leading the conference in the 200. Kailee Perry (mile), Katherine Mendenhall (high jump) and Zaresha Neal (shot put) are currently second in the MAC in their events.Â

The Bowling Green hockey team will look to bounce back this weekend after two losses to Bemidji State, now returning to the Slater Family Ice Arena for two games against Michigan Tech. For the Falcons, Brandon Kruse will lead them into the series with 21 points, consisting of nine goals and 12Â assists, which is tied for the team-lead as well. The series against the Huskies will be the first WCHA series for Bowling Green in three weeks after playing two non-conference series, one against Northern Michigan and the other against Bemidji State.Â
MEN'S BASKETBALL (10-5, 6-3 MAC)

On Saturday afternoon, Bowling Green hosts Toledo for the first of two Battle of I-75 matchups in 2020-21. The game will tip-off at 5 p.m. from inside the Stroh Center. Fifth-year senior Justin Turner scored 20 points last time out to surpass Falcon great and former NBA guard Keith McLeod (1998-2002 | 1,895 points) on Bowling Green's all-time scoring list. Turner has scored 1,901 points and is now just 38 points away from becoming BGSU's all-time leading scorer. BGSU is 6-3 in league play on the season. After the one-game week, the Falcons will take on Eastern Michigan (Feb. 2) and Western Michigan (Feb. 6) next week.Â
GYMNASTICS (0-2, 0-1Â MAC)

The Falcons will continue to compete on the road as BGSU heads to Northern Illinois for their third consecutive away meet. While Bowling Green has been shorthanded to start the year, the Falcons are 0-2 to start. Northern Illinois enters with a 1-2 record but did defeat Western Michigan 194.250-193.775 Sunday. BGSU sophomore Taylor Jensen continues to improve her all-around score, setting a new personal best Sunday with a 38.625.
