Falcons Play Home-And-Home Series Against Redhawks

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (1-0-1) will continue their 2021-22 campaign with a home-and-home series against the Miami Redhawks (1-3-0). Friday's game will begin at 7:05 p.m. at the Goggin Ice Center in Oxford, Ohio. Saturday's game will serve as the official 2021-22 home opener, beginning at 7:07 p.m. at the Slater Family Ice Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Tickets, Parking, and Attendance Guidelines
FRIDAY: Tickets are available for digital purchase HERE. Parking is available for $5 at the Campus Avenue Parking Garage. Per Miami University policy, masks are required for all entrants to Goggin Ice Center, regardless of vaccination status.

SATURDAY: Tickets are available for digital purchase HERE. Parking is available for $10 at Slater Family Ice Arena and Perry Field House. Regardless of vaccination status, all guests, staff, and vendors will be required to wear a face covering while in the Slater Family Ice Arena. Fans are not required to show proof of vaccination to enter the Slater Family Ice Arena, but face coverings – covering the nose and mouth – are required for all fans as they watch the game from their assigned seat and enter, exit, and move around. Children 2 and younger will not be required to wear a face covering. If spectators are unable to wear face coverings, they are encouraged not to attend games in-person for the sake of their health and the health of others.

This will be the first matchup between the Falcons and Redhawks since 2019. Like two years ago, this will be a home-and-home series. The teams split the last series, with the away team taking the victory each game. Bowling Green holds a 63-50-9 advantage in the all-time series.

Opponent Outlook
Miami has compiled a 1-3-0 record on the season, splitting a series with Ferris State before losing twice to Michigan State. The Redhawks overpowered the Bulldogs in the season opener, winning 7-4. Ferris State notched an overtime score to take a 4-3 victory in the weekend finale. Miami fell to Michigan State, 3-1, last Friday, then lost 2-1 the following night. Miami has next week off before starting NCHC play at Omaha.

"Our focus will be on ourselves. We had the off week, so we've been focusing on things that we saw from our series with RPI and focusing on us trying to be the best version of ourselves."

Falcon Facts
- 10 of Bowling Green's 14 points against RPI were scored by newcomers. Nathan Burke netted three goals, including the golden-goal winner on Oct. 9. Gabriel Chicoine tallied three assists, the highest total on the team. Freshmen Austen Swankler and Eric Parker each added two assists.
- Alex Barber tallied an assist against the Engineers, marking his 61st career point. The captain is the team's current leader in points scored at BGSU.
- Goaltender Zack Rose compiled a GAA of 1.90, the 14th-best number in the NCAA. Rose is also the CCHA leader in winning percentage (.750).
