Falcons Complete Series Sweep After Another Offensive Frenzy

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team (7-3-2, 5-3-0) defeated Lake Superior State (7-8-0, 3-5-0) by a score of 6-2 on Saturday (Nov. 20) night. Alex Barber led the Falcons with two goals and two assists, matching last night's stat line from Coale Norris. The victory gives the Falcons a 5-0 record in the Slater Family Ice Arena, scoring 24 goals in those games.

Scoring Plays
- The Falcons opened the scoring column early, needing barely over a minute to tally a goal. It was Taylor Schneider that registered the score, receiving the pass from Alex Barber after he swiped it from Lake Superior State.
- Lake Superior State soon answered with a score of their own before the three-minute mark of the game. Dustin Manz scored the goal with assists from Jacob Bengtsson and Logan Jenuwine.
- The Lakers tallied the next goal to take a 2-1 lead. The goal came from Jenuwine with an assist from Josh Nixon.
- The scoring saw a lull before Chrystopher Collin notched one more before the end of the period. Skating behind the net, Collin was able to wrap the puck around and flick it over the shoulder of Lake Superior State's goalie. Eric Parker and Gabriel Chicoine were credited with the assists on the score.
- In the second period, Alex Barber was able to pick up a loose puck in the offensive zone and cut his way through the defense to log his third goal of the season, giving BG back the lead. Sam Craggs was able to log an assist by knocking the puck loose for Barber to find.
- Later in the period on the power play, Nathan Burke redirected a shot from Chicoine for a score. The goal was Burke's eighth of the season, adding to his team lead. In addition to Chicoine, Taylor Schneider also gained an assist on the goal.
- In the third period, Barber found Scardina on an outlet pass to register the Falcons' fifth goal of the game. Barber had the primary assist with Collin getting the secondary.
- With three minutes remaining, Barber intercepted a Laker pass and scored an unassisted, shorthanded, empty-net goal to cap the evening.

Falcon Facts
- Alex Barber tied his career-high with four points, as well as his career-high with two goals. This was Barber's 14th career multi-point effort and third of the season. This is also his first multi-goal game and first multi-assist game of the season. His shorthanded goal was BGSU's first of the season and the second of his career. The captain leads the team with 70 career points.
- Taylor Schneider also recorded a multi-point night, notching a goal and an assist. This was his 12th career multi-point performance and team-best fifth this season.
- Chrystopher Collin also tallied a goal and an assist for his third multi-point performance of the year. The sophomore now has 11 career points.
- Gabriel Chicoine tallied a pair of assists, extending his season total to a team-best 11. The senior also leads the Falcons with four multi-assist performances. Chicoine's collegiate career point total is now 66.
- Ethan Scardina scored a goal for the second consecutive night, giving him four points on the weekend. The sophomore now has 13 career points.
- Nathan Burke scored a goal for the third straight game, pushing his season total to a team-best eight.
- Eric Parker notched his fifth assist of the season.
- Sam Craggs tallied an assist, his fifth point of the season. The senior has 32 career assists and 55 career points.
- Christian Stoever spent the entire game in goal and made a career-high 30 saves.
