Women’s Cross Country Ranked 15th In USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region Cross Country Coaches’ Rankings

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green women's cross country team soared into the Great Lakes Region Cross Country Coaches' Rankings, released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, on Monday (Nov. 1). The Falcons received a 15th place ranking in the sixth and final poll of the season, which was released following multiple conference championships over the weekend.

The Falcons' ranking comes after a stellar performance at the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday (Oct. 30). The Orange and Brown finished fourth in the Eastern Michigan-hosted meet and were led by two All-MAC performances from seniors Katerina Shuble and Sydney Niekamp. Both runners earned second-team honors after finishing 10^th and 11^th, respectively.

Bowling Green is one of four Mid-American Conference teams listed in this week's poll, including Toledo (4^th), Miami (9^th), and Akron (10th). Michigan, Wisconsin, and Michigan State, representing the Big Ten, hold the top three spots.

The Falcons will travel to Evansville, Ind., to compete in the Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 12. The meet will be held at the Angel Mounds Cross Country Course on the campus of the University of Evansville.
