A Bowling Green Win Would …Â
Scouting The Celtics
The Carlow Celtics will enter the game against the Falcons with a record of 1-11 during the 2021-22 season. Carlow began their season with an 84-82 win over the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg on Nov. 5 but have since lost 11 straight. The Celtics have given up 100 points or more in five games this season, including 135 to James Madison.Â
Nearing History… Again
Daeqwon Plowden is continuing his surge through the BGSU men's basketball record books and he's nearing a feat that has never been reached in program history. With 796 career rebounds, Plowden is just four rebounds away from the 800-mark for his career in the Orange and Brown. Once he reaches that mark, he will be the first player in program history with at least 1,200 career points, 800 career rebounds and 100 career blocks. Plowden enters the Robert Morris game 24th in program history for career points (1,285), eighth for career rebounds (796) and eighth for career blocks (104).Â
Keeping It 100
Bowling Green hit the century mark against Robert Morris with a 100-74 final, marking the second time this season the Falcons have tallied at least 100 points in a game. The team reached 101 in the 101-60 win against Ohio Wesleyan. This is the first time since the 2000-01 season that BGSU has surpassed 100 points at least twice in a season. The program last hit 100 points three times in the same season in 1996-97.Â
Opponent 311
Carlow will be the Falcons' 311th different opponent over the program's history and the second new opponent this season with Southern Utah being the first. Over Coach Huger's tenure, this will be the 71st different team he has faced as the head coach of Bowling Green, having bested 55 of the previous 70.Â
Stealing The Show
The Falcons logged a season-high 15 steals against Robert Morris on Sunday (Dec. 19). Kaden Metheny led the way with four while Joe Reece followed closely with three. In total, eight different Falcons registered at least one steal. Three players have reached double-digit steals, being Metheny (13), Reece (12) and Samari Curtis (10). Of Reece's 12, seven have come in the last two games. As for Metheny, he's notched four steals, his career-high, in three different contests this season.Â
