Justin Wells Named WCHA Defensemen Of The Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced the players of the Week on Monday (Feb. 1). Of those named, Justin Wells received recognition from the conference for being the WCHA Defensemen of the Week. This is Wells' first time being named in his collegiate career. Â

Last weekend, Wells totaled three points for the Falcons as Bowling Green captured a sweep over No. 18 Michigan Tech. Wells began the weekend with his first career multiple-point game, logging a goal and an assist. The goal was the first of the game for the Falcons and the assist came on the second. As for Saturday's game (Jan. 30), Wells added an assist to his week total, coming on Alex Barber's game-winning score.Â
The Falcons next series will be this upcoming weekend against Minnesota State, a matchup of the top two teams in the WCHA. The series will take place on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 5 and 6) in Mankato, Minn. The first game of the series is set for an 8:07 p.m. EST puck drop while the second will begin at 7:07 p.m. EST. The series will also be streamed on FloHockey.Â
