THE WEEK AHEAD
MEN'S BASKETBALL (11-9, 7-7 MAC)
Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Ball State, 7:00 pm | ESPN3 | Radio | @BGSUMHoops
Bowling Green's lone scheduled game this week is slated for Tuesday (Feb. 16) at Ball State. The league game from Worthen Arena in Muncie, Indiana will stream live on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. BGSU will look to continue its momentum from last Saturday's (Feb. 13) 88-81 victory at the University of Toledo. Bowling Green was led by its three seniors – Daeqwon Plowden (22 points and nine rebounds), Justin Turner (21 points and five rebounds) and Trey Diggs (17 points and four rebounds) -- who combined for 60 points, 18 rebounds and five assists. The Falcons have now beaten Toledo in three of the last four Battle of I-75 meetings. Turner enters Tuesday's contest just two points shy of becoming the 17th player in Mid-American Conference history to score 2,000 collegiate points.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (15-4, 11-3 MAC)
Wednesday, Feb. 17 vs. Central Michigan, 7:00 pm | ESPN+ | Radio | Live Stats | @BGSUWbb
The first-place Falcons, after a big win last week, prepare for another important February MAC matchup. BGSU hosts four-time defending conference champion Central Michigan on Wednesday night. Last Wednesday evening, Angela Perry grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a layup with 2.0 seconds to go in overtime, and Nyla Hampton blocked a Kent State shot at the buzzer as the Falcons downed the then first-place Golden Flashes, 80-79. The win put the Orange and Brown atop the MAC, but it's crowded at the top, as six teams have a conference winning percentage between .667 and .786. Beginning with Saturday's CMU game, four of the Falcons' next five contests are against teams in that logjam at the top of the table. Wednesday's game will be streamed by ESPN3 or ESPN+, with an audio broadcast available via the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization.
WOMEN'S SOCCER (0-0, 0-0 MAC)
Thursday, Feb. 18 vs. Saginaw Valley State (exhibition), 2:00 pm (Moved to Feb. 22) | @BGSUWSoc
The women's soccer Falcons, the two-time defending Mid-American Conference champions, are scheduled to meet Saginaw Valley State in a closed scrimmage on Thursday afternoon. Head coach Jimmy Walker and the Falcons have seen a number of planned scrimmages postponed or canceled, and the team has not played since a 5-0 victory over Toledo on Feb. 3. SVSU finished 12-7-0 overall and 7-2-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2019, and the Cardinals advanced to the championship match of the GLIAC Tournament. In addition to SVSU, Walker and the Falcons are slated to face Butler in a scrimmage on Feb. 26, before beginning the regular-season schedule on March 4 at Akron. BGSU scored a school-record 46 goals during that 2019 season, en route to winning the MAC's regular-season and tournament titles for the second-straight year. The Falcons have an overall record of 41-18-7 over the last three seasons.Â
VOLLEYBALL (8-0, 8-0 MAC)
Thursday, Feb. 18 vs. Ohio, 6:00 pm | ESPN3/+ | Radio | Live Stats | @BGSUVolleyball

The BGSU volleyball team will return to the Stroh Center this week to host Ohio on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 18-19) in the team's next set of MAC matches. The Falcons will enter riding an 8-0 start to the season, the best start in MAC play since the 2012 campaign that also went 8-0. As for the start of the season, the Orange and Brown are chasing the 2011 season that posted a program-best 12-0 start. Bowling Green has also been able to capture six sweeps over the first eight matches, giving the Falcons as many sweeps as any other team in the MAC has wins, seeing both Kent State and Western Michigan with six wins this year.Â
SWIMMING & DIVING (1-2, 1-2 MAC)

Against Toledo, freshman Zoe Smith won the 1-meter diving competition and was followed in second place by freshman teammate Grace Ellis. Another freshman, Rayah Blood, has been the team's top 3-meter diver.Â
SOFTBALL (3-1)
Friday-Sunday, Feb. 19-21 at Winthrop Kickoff Tournament | @BGSUSoftball
(NOTES: this weekend's schedule has changed several times; check the BGSU softball schedule page for the latest updates)
The softball Falcons travel to Rock Hill, S.C., for five games in the Winthrop Kickoff Tournament this weekend. As of Thursday evening (Feb. 18), there will be no live stream for any of the five games, but live stats will be available. Payton Gottshall and the Falcons are coming off of an epic weekend in downtown Cleveland, where BGSU won three of four games against Cleveland State to open the season. All Gottshall did was strike out a school-record 20 batters and throw a one-hit shutout in the season opener on Friday, before firing a perfect game the following day. The perfect game was just the second in school history and the first since 1993. In case that wasn't enough, she returned to the circle to pitch 7 1/3 innings of relief in Saturday's second game, as BG rallied from a 7-1 deficit for an 8-7, extra-inning win. She had an ERA of 0.00 on the weekend, allowing just five hits in 21 1/3 innings, and she struck out an eye-popping 51 CSU hitters while issuing exactly zero walks. At the plate, Evelyn Loyola and Payton Hamm combined to go 9-for-18 on the weekend. Loyola had an on-base percentage of .733, as she walked six times in addition to going 5-for-9 at the plate, and she had a slugging pct. of .889 thanks in large part to a three-run homer that accounted for all of the scoring in the opening game. Hamm was 4-for-9 with a pair of doubles, and Greta L'Esperance had six hits and tied Loyola for the team lead with eight total bases.
GYMNASTICS (0-5, 0-3Â MAC)
Friday, Feb. 19 vs. Ball State, 5:00 pm | Live Stream (Coming Soon) | Live Stats | @FalconGymn
BGSUÂ will be home for the third straight weekend, hosting Ball State Friday at 5:00 pm. The Falcons set season best scores on balance beam and floor this past weekend and continue to improve their lineups throughout. Ball State enters the meet as the fourth-ranked team in the Mid-American Conference and is No. 1 in the MAC in uneven bars. The Cardinals' Claudia Goyco ranks fourth in the MAC on the floor. For the Falcons, Elena Lawson is fifth in the MAC on vault.Â

The Falcons continue to position themselves for the MAC Championships and rank among the top five in the league in an event nine separate times. The Bowling Green tennis program will continue their season this weekend, traveling to face Xavier on Saturday (Feb. 20) for a 4:30 p.m. start time. The Falcons will enter the match 1-1 after beginning their season this past weekend. Over the two matches the Falcons saw both Selina Karg and Hannah Neuman pick up their first collegiate wins of their career.Â
MEN'S SOCCER (0-0, 0-0 MAC)
Saturday, Feb. 20 at Dayton, 6:00 pm (Moved to Friday, Feb. 19, 2:30 pm [Mason, Ohio])Â | @BGSUMensSoccer
Once again this weekend, the Falcons will look to get the regular-season portion of the schedule underway, as BGSU is scheduled to play a Friday match at Dayton. BG outscored Xavier and Tiffin by a combined 9-0 in a pair of scrimmages, including a 7-0 win over the Dragons on Tuesday (Feb. 9), but Saturday's (Feb. 13) regular-season opener at Kentucky was postponed due to weather. By the time the UD match rolls around, it will have been more than 15 months since the Falcons wrapped up the 2019 season in the MAC Tournament's championship match. BG closed the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 13-7-1, advancing to the tourney final with wins over Northern Illinois and top-seeded Akron. UD, like BGSU, won 13 matches in 2019, going 13-8-0. And, like the Falcons, the Flyers advanced to the championship match of the conference tournament before falling by a 1-0 score. More recently, Dayton picked up a 2-1 exhibition win at Akron on Friday afternoon (Feb. 12). BGSU has added a neutral-site match against Syracuse for Tuesday, Feb. 23 (in Buffalo, N.Y.) before the Falcons meet Marshall on the road on Feb. 27. BG's home opener is scheduled for Sunday, March 14, vs. SIUE.

Sunday, Feb. 21 at Northern Michigan, 4:07 pm ET | FloHockey | Radio | Live Stats | @BGFalconHockey
The Bowling Green hockey team will take to the road this upcoming weekend for a two-game slate against Northern Michigan. The series will mark the final two-game road series of the regular season for the Falcons with just a home-and-home against Alabama Huntsville remaining on the schedule after this weekend. For the Falcons, they will enter the series holding on to second place in the WCHAÂ with Northern Michigan being just behind them in third with only three points separating the two teams. The Falcons and Wildcats met earlier this season in a non-conference series that saw BGSU sweep NMU at the Slater Family Ice Arena.Â
