BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program and head coach Stephanie Young have announced the signing of MacKenzie Moore (Trophy Club, Texas / Byron Nelson High School) to a National Letter of Intent. Moore will be a freshman for the Falcons during the 2021-22 athletics season.
"MacKenzie Moore is an outstanding addition to BGSU and our women's golf program," said Coach Young. "Mac is a talented student-athlete who excels both in the classroom and on the golf course. She is a competitor who knows what it takes to win and her passion for the game will continue to help her develop and grow at the next level. We are excited for her to begin the next chapter at BGSU."
A four-year letterwinner at Byron Nelson High School, Moore garnered All-State honors in her most-recent high school season. A multiple-time All-Region performer on the golf course, Moore has earned Academic All-District honors every season. Moore is the back-to-back defending champion at the Heart of Texas High School Championship (over 100 competitors), having broke both the 36-hole and 54-hole scoring records at the event.
Moore carded rounds of 71-71 to win the 2020 North Texas Classic on the Legends Junior Golf Tour. The future Falcon also won the Bluebonnet Championship on the same tour in 2019 by scoring 68-73. Moore, who was the champion at the 2016 Texas State Junior Match Play, placed fourth (out of 84 amateurs) at the South Atlantic Women's Amateur in 2019 by scoring 79-73-72-74.
