SETTING THE SCENE – FALCONS FACE OHIO IN RARE FEBRUARY HOME GAME
• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team returns to the Stroh Center this weekend, for one of just two home games during the month of February. Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons will meet perennial Mid-American Conference power Ohio University on Saturday (Feb. 6), with tipoff at 12:00 p.m.
• BGSU ended January with five consecutive wins, the program's longest winning streak since a 13-game streak in 2013-14, but the Falcons saw that streak snapped with a one-point loss, 79-78, in a wild game at Northern Illinois on Wednesday evening (Feb. 3).
• The Falcons tied the school single-game record by making 16 three-point field goals in DeKalb. Junior Kadie Hempfling led the way with a career-high six triples, while Lexi Fleming, Madisen Parker and Olivia Trice hit three treys apiece.
• For BGSU, the NIU game began an arduous February schedule which sees the Falcons play five of the month's seven games on the road. BG's next five games are against teams with a combined MAC record of 34-17 (.667).

FLEMING = FANTASTIC FALCON FLEDGLING
• Freshman Lexi Fleming has gotten off to an impressive start to her BGSU career, to say the very least. The Cincinnati native scored 22 points at NIU Wednesday night, her 17th double-digit effort in as many games this season.
• Fleming is only the third Falcon since 1993 – and the first freshman – to hit double figures in scoring in as many as 17 consecutive games to begin the season.

A QUICK LOOK AT THE BOBCATS
• Ohio is 10-5 overall, and the Bobcats are 8-4 in MAC play entering Saturday's game. After 11 of the team's first 13 games were decided by single digits, the 'Cats have won the last two games (over Akron and Kent State) by a combined 45 points.
• Cierra Hooks leads the team and ranks second in the nation in scoring, with 26.6 points per game, while Erica Johnson has 19.5 ppg and Gabby Burris 13.5. All three players have at least 5.9 rebounds per contest as well.
• The Bobcats are 6-2 at home and 4-3 on the road this season. In the MAC, Ohio is 4-2 in Athens and 4-2 away from home as well. Head coach Bob Boldon welcomed back 10 letterwinners, including three starters, from a 2019-20 club that finished 19-11 overall and 11-7 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead Ohio, 56-32, in the all-time series, and BGSU captured the most recent meeting. The Brown and Orange downed the 'Cats, 82-68, at the Stroh late last season (Feb. 26, 2020). That snapped an 11-game series winning streak for Ohio.
• BGSU is 32-10 in home games, 21-20 in road contests and 3-2 in neutral-site games vs. the Bobcats over the years. Much more series information can be found on page 24 of the PDF version of these notes.
