HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team continued its spring season this week in Texas at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational. The Falcons posted a team score of 957 over the three-round event to finish in seventh out of 11 institutions. A nationally-ranked Sam Houston State hosted the event at Ravens Nest Golf Club.
Bowling Green's Kayla Davis and Emily Pantig-Nystrom each placed inside the top-30 on the individual leaderboard. Davis finished T-24 and had at least one birdie in all three rounds. Davis' round-two 76 was BGSU's low round at the tournament. Pantig-Nystrom (T-27) continued a strong spring, carding improving rounds of 80-79-78.
Nichole Cox (T-40) placed in the top-three on the BGSU leaderboard for the third-straight event. Cox's round-one 79 marked her low round for the week. For the second-straight tournament, Dani Austinson (T-48) posted a score in the 70's on day one of the event. Austinson's round-two 79 is her second-lowest round of 2021.
Erin Korn appeared in the Falcon lineup for the second time this spring, and got her day started in round three with a birdie on the par-five opening hole. Savannah Wyrick made her Bowling Green debut this week, posting her best round of the tournament today with birdies on holes nine (par 5) and 13 (par 4).
