Conference-High 10 Falcons Named All-Academic

Cleveland, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday (April 20) the 2020-21 recipients of the Academic All-MAC award. In total, 86 student-athletes were named, including 10 members of the Bowling Green squad. Having 10 members places the Falcons at the top of the conference with the next closest being nine for Ball State and Toledo. Those named for BGSU include Jacqueline Askin, Taylor Haberland, Petra Indrova, Nikolija Katanic, Hanna Laube, Madelynn Luebcke, Katelyn Meyer, Kerstie Shaw, Yelianiz Torres and Julia Walz.

The Academic All-MAC Team recognizes student-athletes who have excelled both on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must possess a minimum of a 3.20 GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.Â
In addition to having the most recipients in the conference, the Falcons also have one of just two players on the list to maintain a cumulative 4.000 GPA. For Bowling Green, Hanna Laube was able to hold a 4.000 GPA being joined by only Northern Illinois' Kelsy Turksey.
Seniors Askin and Haberland were named for the third time in their careers, earning the recognition each year they could be considered. Katanic, Laube, Meyer, Shaw and Walz, were all named for the second time while Indrova, Luebcke and Torres were named for the first time.Â
