Three Pitchers Each Earn First Collegiate Win in Sweep of Akron

• Three different BGSU pitchers each picked up the first win of their respective collegiate careers in the Falcons' four-game sweep of Akron at Meserve Field last weekend. Hannah Davies went 2-0 vs. the Zips, while Harlie Vannatter and Sydney Stepp each earned a win in the circle.
• Davies got the final four outs of Friday's series opener, without allowing a hit, to earn the win in relief. Less than 24 hours after picking up her first collegiate win, she threw her first complete game – and her first complete-game shutout – as a Falcon, scattering four hits in a 1-0 win.
• Sammy Dees continued her hot hitting last weekend. Dees had four doubles and six RBI in the Akron series, with the game-winning RBI in two of the victories. She capped the weekend with a walk-off double to score Greta L'Esperance in Sunday's finale. Dees is batting .371 with a team-high 12 RBI in BG's 12 MAC games, and she has raised her overall season batting average 76 points over the last three weekends.
• Madi McCoy saw a 12-game hitting streak, along with a streak of reaching base in 15-straight games, end in the final Akron contest. But, she is still hitting a team-high .471 in MAC games, with an on-base percentage of .525 and a slugging pct. of .647 in conference contests.
• The Falcons lead Buffalo, 28-14, in the all-time series. but the Bulls captured two of three games the last time the teams met, two years ago (April 12-13, 2019) at Meserve Field. BGSU went 2-0 the last time the Falcons traveled to Western New York (April 13, 2018).
