THE WEEK AHEAD
SOFTBALL (21-25, 13-18 MAC)
Tuesday, May 4 vs. Western Michigan, 1:00 pm (DH) | Live Stats | @BGSUSoftball
Friday, May 7 at Northern Illinois, 4:00 pm | @BGSUSoftball

Sunday, May 9 at Northern Illinois, 1:00 pm | @BGSUSoftball
The Falcons wrap up the home portion of the schedule with a Tuesday doubleheader vs. Western Michigan. First pitch of game one is set for 1:00 p.m. Then, the Falcons will head to DeKalb, Ill., for a weekend series with Northern Illinois. There will be live stats and video for all six games, and those links will be available on the softball schedule page here at BGSUFalcons.com. Last week, BGSU split a midweek DH with Toledo before taking on MAC-leading Miami over the weekend. The RedHawks entered the weekend ranked second in the nation in scoring. No MAC pitcher had held MU to fewer than two runs in a game, but Payton Gottshall did so twice in as many starts on Friday and Saturday. Gottshall picked up the win in Saturday's nightcap, allowing just two hits, and the Falcons recorded a walk-off win vs. the RedHawks. In that game, Gottshall -- despite missing nearly a month of the season due to injury -- broke the BGSU single-season strikeout record, and she now has 240 on the year.

The Falcons begin a busy week of #MACtion with a rare midweek conference game on Tuesday versus Miami at Steller Field at Gary Haas Stadium. Bowling Green will then host Eastern Michigan over the weekend for a four-game series. BGSU wrapped up its weekend series on Sunday (May 2) with an 8-5 win over Ball State. After falling behind by a 3-1 margin, Bowling Green changed the outlook of the ballgame in the bottom half with a six-run fifth inning. The Falcons picked up their 10th conference win of the season with the effort, moving to 10-14 within the league. BGSU, with 16 conference games remaining on the schedule, has already reached double-digit MAC wins for the first time since 2015.
