Falcons Place Seven On WGCA All-American Team; Six On Academic All-MAC Squad

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University women's golf team led the Mid-American Conference with six student-athletes being selected to the 2021 Academic All-MAC Team. Dani Austinson, Sammi Blackburn, Nichole Cox, Kayla Davis, Erin Korn and Aly Kovach earned the recognition for the Orange and Brown. The six selections are the second-most in school history for Bowling Green and most since the 2014-15 campaign. Additionally -- all six student-athletes and freshman Emily Pantig-Nystrom -- earned recognition as WGCA All-American Scholars. The news from both groups were announced today.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, as the minimum cumulative GPA requrement is 3.50.
