Tennis To Travel To Cincinnati For Pam Whitehead Invitational

CINCINNATI – The Bowling Green State University tennis program will continue the 2021-22 season this weekend at the Pam Whitehead Invitational. The invitational, hosted at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center by the University of Cincinnati, begins on Friday, Sept. 17, and concludes on Saturday, Sept. 18. First serve is at 12 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Last Week
Bowling Green opened the 2021-22 campaign with a dominant performance at last weekend's Findlay Invitational. The Falcons, competing against Findlay, Tiffin, and Wayne State, compiled a 13-5 record in singles and an 8-1 record in doubles. Three Falcons were undefeated on the weekend, as Florencia Fuentes, Laura Maia Silveira, and Annika Vetter combined to go 10-0.

Pam Whitehead Invitational Information
The Falcons enter the weekend as the only team with experience this season. The Pam Whitehead Invitational will serve as the season opener for the other three programs competing (Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Western Kentucky). Last season, Cincinnati finished 6-10, and Western Kentucky was 7-14. The Redhawks ended the 2020-21 season at 10-13, splitting their two matches against the Falcons.

The Falcons will participate in the ITA Midwest Regional next week, playing from Friday, Sept. 24, to Sunday, Sept. 26. The Regional will be hosted at the Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Illinois. Players who qualify for the Super Regional will compete from Friday, Oct. 22 to Monday, Oct. 25. The Super Regional will be hosted by Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
