Tennis Travels To Illinois For ITA Regionals

URBANA, Ill. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program will compete at the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional this weekend. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Illinois from Friday, Sept. 24, to Sunday, Sept. 26. All matches will be held at the Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Illinois.
Last Week
Bowling Green played in their second invitational of the season, traveling to Cincinnati for the Pam Whitehead Invitational. Ioanna Tsadari finished 2-1 in the No. 1 singles spot, sharing the Singles Title. Annika Vetter finished 3-0 in singles for the second consecutive weekend, this time playing in the No. 2 spot. Vetter and Ines Iglesias paced the Falcons in doubles play, finishing 2-1.
ITA Midwest Regional Information
The ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by the University of Illinois, will feature a singles bracket with 128 spots and a doubles bracket with 64 spots. If there are open spots in either bracket, players or duos will receive a first-round bye. Weather permitting, there will be consolation rounds, guaranteeing each player at least two singles and two doubles matches. The final 16 singles players and final 8 doubles duos will qualify for the ITA Midwest Super Regional, hosted by Ohio State University.

Singles players and doubles pairs who qualify for the ITA Midwest Super Regional. This event will be hosted by Ohio State University from Friday, Oct. 22 to Monday, Oct. 25. Following the Super Regional, the Falcons will travel up I-75 for their final fall event. The Toledo Invitational, hosted by the University of Toledo, will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30.
