Ten Trimble Triples Trip Falcons

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program came up short against the Akron Zips Thursday night (Jan. 20) at the Stroh Center, 91-66. Akron's Bryan Trimble Jr. stole the show with 33 points, going 10-for-14 from behind the arc. On the Bowling Green side, Daeqwon Plowden logged his third 20-point game of the season, hitting the mark exactly in his 100th start as a Falcon. BGSU will now turn their attention to Western Michigan this Saturday (Jan. 22) in Kalamazoo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons jumped out to a 6-0 lead with Daeqwon Plowden scoring the first four points of the game and prompting an Akron timeout.
- After trading baskets, the Zips were able to go on a 9-0 run to claim their first lead of the night, growing to 24-18 before the Falcons answered.
- Another 6-0 burst for Bowling Green tied the score at 24-24, but a 7-0 run swung the score back to Akron at 31-24.
- Akron closed out the first half on a 12-2 run, heading to the break with a 46-34 advantage.
- An 8-1 run to start the second half pushed the Akron lead to 19 at 54-35.
- The Zips' lead would grow as large as 27 at 76-49, finishing in a 91-66 final in favor of Akron.

- Starting his 100th game in the Orange and Brown, Daeqwon Plowden moved up the all-time lists for points and rebounds. With a team-high 20 points he passed Joe Faine for 17th all-time, now with 1,424 career points. As for rebounds, Plowden logged seven, passing Jim Connally for sixth all-time with 853.
- Josiah Fulcher came a point shy of what would have been his first career double-double. Fulcher posted a career-high 10 rebounds, including a career-high six on the offensive end, to go along with nine points.
