Back On The Road: Bowling Green To Battle Broncos For Saturday Matinee

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will be back on the road this Saturday (Jan. 22) to conclude the three-game week, traveling to Kalamazoo, Mich. to face Western Michigan. The game is set for a 2:00 p.m. matinee tip-off and will mark the eighth MAC game of the season for BGSU. The game between the Falcons and Broncos will be available to stream on ESPN3. The game between Bowling Green and Western Michigan will be the first of two scheduled meetings between the teams this season and the 124th meeting all-time. The Falcons hold the advantage all-time, being 74-49 against the Broncos. When playing in Kalamazoo, WMU holds a slight advantage, being 31-30 when hosting the Falcons. The Orange and Brown have won the last two games that have been played in Kalamazoo.

Western Michigan will enter the contest winless in MAC competition, having lost seven straight and nine of their last 10. The Broncos' last win came on Dec. 17 against Aquinas College (67-56). Junior guard Lamar Norman Jr. leads the way for WMU, averaging 19.3 points per game, 34th in the nation and third in the MAC.Â
Digging Into The Record BookÂ
Trey Diggs has entered the Bowling Green record book for three-point field goals made over a career in the Orange and Brown. As a Falcon, Diggs has hit 153 shots from behind the arc, including 44 this season. That total places him eighth all-time for three-point field goals made. So far this season, Diggs is shooting 38.5% from three over 113 attempts, which are fourth in the MAC and 92nd in the nation.Â
Nearing The Top FiveÂ
Daeqwon Plowden is drawing close to the top five all-time for both rebounds and blocks, currently sixth for both stats. For blocks, Plowden currently has 113, needing four more to pass Ed Colbert for fifth all-time. As for rebounds, Plowden sits at 853, needing an additional 19 to surpass Colin Irish for fifth all-time.
