Falcons Herd into Busy Weekend
January 27, 2022 | Women's Swimming & Diving
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swim and dive team starts their busy weekend against the Thundering Herd of Marshall University on Friday at 5 p.m. in Huntington, West Virginia.
The weekend of travel and competition will then conclude in Athens, Ohio against the Bobcats of Ohio University and the Cleveland State Vikings on Saturday with the dual meet starting at 12 p.m.
Falcons to Watch
After a strong win against rival Toledo, the Falcons are going into the weekend with a wave of momentum. Diver Zoe Smith has finished in the top 10 in all four of her diving events in the spring season, winning both the 1- and 3-meter dives last weekend.
Swimmers Daisy Platts and Martina Stefinec are riding victories in their respective backstroke and breaststroke events. Platts won both the 100 and 200 backstroke events and Stefinec captured the top spot on the podium in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.
Preview of Opponents
Marshall heads into tomorrow's meet with a record of 1-4. The Thundering Herd's record at home is perfect though and look to continue that against the Falcons of BGSU.
The Bobcats of Ohio look to improve their record to above .500 for the first time on the year with a sweep of the Falcons and Vikings.
The active Vikings head into their 11th meet of the season on Saturday against the Bobcats and Falcons in hopes of seizing a dominate dual meet win.
