Bowling Green Set For Road Contest Against Wright State Tuesday Night

DAYTON, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will stay on the road for the second of four straight away games, traveling south on I-75 to face Wright State on Tuesday (Nov. 15). The game is set for a 7:00 p.m. tip and will be the first meeting between the two since the 2020-21 season. The contest will be available to watch on ESPN+. Tuesday's game will mark the 17th meeting all-time between Bowling Green and Wright State with the series tied at 8-8. The Raiders have won the last two meetings, both being played in Dayton, with the last BGSU win in the series coming on Nov. 19, 2014 at home by a score of 70-55. The last meeting was on Dec. 13, 2020 with Wright State claiming an 85-67 final score.Â

Wright State has played two close games to start the season, coming out with a 1-1 record. The Raiders began the season at home, losing 102-97 to Davidson in two overtimes. Wright State picked up their first win with a 73-72 win on the road against Louisville. Wright State is coming off a Horizon League Championship last season and an NCAA Tournament appearance, beating Bryant in the First Four round before falling to Arizona.Â
Ayers Attacking New Role
Leon Ayers III has taken over a new role with the Falcons after transferring into the program ahead of the 2022-23 season. Ayers posted a career-high 26 points against Oakland, scoring 14 of the Falcons first 16 points in the game. Through two games this season, Ayers has led the Orange and Brown in scoring in both contests, currently averaging 21.0 points per game. Ayers is also averaging 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.Â
Curtis Continues ConsistencyÂ
Samari Curtis began the season with back-to-back double-digit scoring games after having 14 points against Mansfield and 17 against West Virginia in this season's exhibitions. Dating back to last season, and including the exhibitions, Curtis has logged 11 double-digit performances over the last 13 games. Curtis is also averaging 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season.Â
Crashing The BoardsÂ
Through the first two games of the season, the Falcons have been able to control the boards with a rebounds margin of +12.5 per game. BGSU has totaled 83 rebounds while the opposition has had 58 for averages of 41.5 and 29.0 per game. Wright State has tallied 78 rebounds through their two games, averaging 39.0 per game.Â
