Falcons Rally In Singles Play For Thrilling Win In Cleveland

CLEVELAND – The Bowling Green Falcons tennis team concluded February with a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Cleveland State Vikings. The day began with Cleveland State sweeping the doubles matches to earn the first point, then CSU won two singles matches to gain a 3-0 lead. From there, the Falcons, won four consecutive singles matches to claim a comeback victory. Selina Karg started the rally, winning in two sets. BGSU's final three singles wins came in three-set matches, with all three coming after a Falcon dropped the opening set. The first two wins came from Florencia Fuentes and Annika Vetter, then Maru Poppe's victory gave the Orange and Brown their third win of the season. With their triumph at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion, the Falcons move to 3-5 on the season.
