Falcons Host Greyhounds For First Home Match Of Season

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program will play their first home match of the 2021-22 season, meeting the University of Indianapolis for a Saturday (Feb. 5) dual. The Falcons and Greyhounds will meet in the Perrysburg Tennis Center, with first serve scheduled for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Falcons were defeated by Purdue last weekend, with Selina Karg and Hannah Neuman earning a doubles victory for BGSU. The duo is 1-1 this season and 6-1 in their careers. With the victory, Karg moves to 16-5 in her doubles career and 38-10 in combined matches.

Falcon Facts

This will be Bowling Green's first home match since April 30, 2021. The Falcons defeated Eastern Michigan, 5-2, with Ioanna Tsadari and Selina Karg earning singles wins and Karg and Hannah Neuman combining for a doubles victory.
The last time the Orange and Brown hosted a non-conference opponent was March 5, 2021, when they edged out a 4-3 victory over Cleveland State. Selina Karg won in singles and doubles to pace the Falcons.

Opponent Outlook
Saturday will mark the spring opener for Indianapolis, who finished last season 23-1 and NCAA Division II Runner-Up. The Greyhounds competed at the ITA Regionals in September, claiming the Singles and Doubles crowns. Bella Dunlap and Anna Novikova qualified for ITA Nationals, with the latter reaching the Singles Quarterfinals.

Series History
The Falcons and Greyhounds have met four times over the last five seasons, with UIndy holding a 1-3 advantage. In their last matchup, the Greyhounds won 5-2. Ioanna Tsadari and Anna Novikova faced off in the No. 2 Singles slot, with Tsadari winning 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

Attendance Guidelines
Admission to the Perrysburg Tennis Center is free. Parking is available in the lots surrounding the complex. Per complex policy, face coverings are required in the facility, regardless of vaccination status.
