Falcons Host Oakland Before Opening MAC Play At NIU

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team will play two matches this weekend. They begin with their final non-conference match, a home contest against Oakland on Friday, March 18. The Falcons and Golden Grizzlies will meet at the Perrysburg Tennis Center at 1 p.m. ET Bowling Green will head to Rockford, Illinois, for the 2022 MAC Opener, meeting Northern Illinois at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 20. The first conference contest of the year will be held at the Boylan Tennis Center. Bowling Green currently has a 3-7 overall record.

Last Time Out
The Falcons competed twice during spring break, playing both matches in California. They opened the weekend with a 5-2 loss to Point Loma. The Falcons saw success in doubles play, sweeping all three matches. The duos of Hannah Neuman & Selina Karg, Maru Poppe & Ioanna Tsadari, and Florencia Fuentes & Annika Vetter all claimed a victory. Karg also added a win in singles play.

Two days later, the Falcons were defeated by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, once again by a score of 5-2. Neuman and Karg paired for another win in doubles, with Tsadari and Karg winning the No. 1 and 2 singles matches, respectively.
