Daisy Platts Named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

BOWLING GREEN. Ohio – Bowling Green's Daisy Platts was named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week. This is Platts' second weekly accolade this spring season, previously being awarded MAC Swimmer of the Week for events competed in from January 24th through the 30th.
Platts, a senior from Leicester, U.K. is an Exercise Science Major with a GPA of 3.864. Platts was named to the All-MAC First team for the fourth straight year after another spectacular performance at MAC Championships this year. On Wednesday, she swam one leg of the 200 Medley Relay team that broke the school record, and posted the fastest backstroke split of any other swimmer in the event.
Thursday night, she broke her own school record in the 200 IM and placed third in the event. Friday Platts broke her own school record for the second time in as many days in the 100 Backstroke during prelims. Platts' time was just 0.03 shy of the MAC record. Later that night Platts won the MAC Championship in the 100 Backstroke, winning the event for the third straight year. Platts posted the second fastest time in school history and now holds the 10 fastest times in BGSU history.
Friday night Platts was also part of the 400 Medley Relay team that broke another school record. Saturday Platts finished second in the 200 Backstroke, yet another event that Platts owns the 10 fastest times in program history.
Platts now owns a total of six individual MAC Championships, three in each of the 100 and 200 Backstroke events.
