November 22, 2025 | General, Women's Swimming & Diving
CLEVELAND — Bowling Green expanded its scoring presence across nearly every event Friday at the Magnus Cup Invitational, adding depth and season-best swims behind standout wins from senior Emily McNicol and a runner-up finish from senior Natalia Mayorga on the 3-meter board. The Falcons remain third overall with 699 points, trailing just Akron and Northern Colorado in the women's standings.
McNicol delivered one of the meet's top performances with her victory in the 100 back, dropping more than a second from prelims to post a 53.36 in finals, well under her morning 54.81. The time ranks among the program's fastest ever, surpassing the No. 3 all-time standard of 54.35. Her opening relay leg also helped the Falcons place third in the 200 medley relay where she teamed with Lauren Jablonski, Karina Solera, and Samia Becdach to finish in 1:41.32.
Jablonski continued her strong season with a third-place finish in the 100 breastsroke, clocking 1:02.13 after a prelim of 1:02.55 to secure 20 points. This swim placed her fourth on the all-time list in the event, surpassing the 1:02.22 mark.
In the 400 IM, senior Maddie Bond placed fourth in 4:26.29 dropping nearly three seconds from her prelim and delivering one of the team's stronger mid-distance efforts of the meet. Bond's finish garnered the Falcons 19 points.
Freshman Grace Bodrock earned points in the 100 fly, finishing ninth with a 55.81 in finals, just off her prelim time of 56.33. Fellow Falcon Bridget Kurtzweil also scored with a 57.14 in the B-final.
Diving again proved to be advantageous for Bowling Green. Mayorga's runner-up 292.00 final anchored important points on the 3-meter board, where BGSU claimed five of the top nine A-final spots. Senior Elise Snyder earned fifth with 253.95, followed by freshmen Autumn Johnston (248.70), Claire Werner (246.85) and Sadie Dempz (246.40) in seventh through ninth place. In the B-final, Victoria Miller added eight points with 222.00, and senior Evie Long contributed four more with 195.35
Bowling Green enters Saturday positioned for a top three team finish, holding a substantial advantage over fourth-place Xavier while closing ground on Northern Colorado.
